Sudan Archives

Artist Biography

The newest signing to Stones Throw Records, 23-year-old violinist and vocalist Sudan Archives has been impressing critics and live audiences with her innovative sound. Sudan Archives writes, plays, and produces her own music. Drawing inspiration from North African fiddlers, she is self-taught on the violin, and her unique songs also fold in elements of R&B, West African rhythms, and experimental electronic music. Her debut EP was launched with a video shot in Ghana for the single Come Meh Way. Released digitally in July 2017 and out on vinyl in September, Sudan Archives EP is an extraordinary debut statement from a singular artist.
