The Arcade Fire pulled an upset at last night’s Grammys, confusing Barbra Streisand and beating out Lady Gaga and Eminem to win Album of The Year for The Suburbs. The Suburbs, which was released on Merge, was the only record in the ‘Album of The Year’ category that was released independently. “This award is for our record,” Win Butler said. “We really believe in records. When we make a record, we really put all of our soul into it.” Watch the band’s performances and the acceptance speech, here.
